Dongle Upgrade from any previous version to Newtek's latest USB version for use with their
award winning 3d animation software, LightWave 3d! Current serial number required at time of order (just note it in the comments box).
We use a USB dongle that works on both Windows
and Mac OSX machines. LightWave 3D comes in both flavours on the
program disc, so you can use either platform, but the advantages don't
stop there:
- Install it on both platforms, on as many computers as you like
Since LightWave 3D comes with both versions on its program disc, you
can feel free to install both the PC and Mac version, as you like.
All files that LightWave 3D uses are completely transferable between
the platforms as well. This portability means that you can always carry
around your LightWave 3D discs with you and install it anywhere you go.
There's no limit to the number of machines you can run LightWave 3D on.
The machine with your dongle is the only one that runs in full mode-
the others in demo mode.
- Network render nodes
LightWave
3D is the only 3D application that gives you 999 render nodes as
standard, so even if you only have one licence, it doesn't mean to say
that you can't have a monster render farm ready to churn out frames for
your project. Just like the dongle, you can have render nodes on both
PC and Mac with no problem*.
*We
advise against a mixed platform render farm though because the AMD,
Intel and PowerPC processors that LightWave 3D's renderfarm software -
Screamernet - runs on each have a slightly different way of calculating
random numbers, which can lead to differences between identical frames
rendered on different processors.
