This controller is an ex-demonstration unit. It has however been used for no more than a 5 demonstrations and is in perfect condition. Please note that this is the model without the arm rest.
The MCS-3800 is the definitive workstation controller that is controlling the video and audio workstations for broadcasters, post-production facilities, education establishments, production companies around the world.
The 3800 restored the essential hardware control for video and audio professionals that was lost when generic computer workstation editing started to take over from tape based or the early non-linear systems.
The MCS-3800 features a comprehensive timeline location and motion control section that includes the highly regarded JLC dual concentric jog/shuttle control, plus 7 edit keys, 9 programmable Function keys and a numeric keypad for entering timecode locations.
The mixer section is equipped with eight touch-sensitive motorised faders, each with four keys for channel select, mutes, solo and auxiliary control, supported by the channel control section with LCD display and rotary encoders.
Like the other MCS-3000 series devices, the MCS-3800 can be operated as a universal controller and where the control to parameter can be user-programmed. Alternatively, the workstation application can assume control of the MCS-3800 whereby all control and key assignments are managed within the workstation application.
The MCS-3800 is fitted with MIDI I/O sockets with two option slots into which can be fitted the alternative control ports for RS422, RS232, USB and Ethernet.
