SD Flex
SD | Flex is a dedicated Apple Mac product, not compatible with Windows or Linux.
Digital Voodoo’s Standard Definition cards have been designed exclusively for and will only work in Apple Macintosh platforms. These cards are dedicated QuickTime video I/O cards that support QuickTime applications such as Final Cut Pro 4.5, Adobe After Effects, Discreet Combustion and Apple Shake.
Digital Voodoo's SD | Edit supports both PAL and NTSC SD-SDI input and output with 6 channels AES/EBU digital audio.
The SD | Flex card builds on this by offering in addition to the IO options of the SD | Edit, composite/s-video/component analogue input,
composite/s-video/component/RGB analogue output, dual channel SD-SDI input multiplexer, and a SD-SDI a key channel output.
Other Common Features include:
- RT Extreme – by harnessing the power of Final Cut Pro4™'s RT Extreme real-time effects technology the cards allow seamless real-time playback of effects eliminating the need to render (Performance dependant upon host). By featuring both 8 and 10 Bit 4:2:2 uncompressed support for RT Extreme, real-time effects including 3-way colour-correction, cross-dissolves, additive dissolves and many other transitions and filters are supported.
- Photo-JPEG – all cards support Final Cut Pro4™'s Photo-JPEG playback and capture, facilitating offline editing.
- Onboard Keyer - allows the overlay of video or graphics over the SDI input stream in real time. Internal keying is a powerful feature and is useful for live broadcast environments and branding of footage.
- Full genlocking capability - the output circuits are fully decoupled from the input circuits for unconditionally stable video outputs even during capture where the card performs as a synchronizer. SDI outputs meet SMPTE specs (including jitter) at all times with or without genlock.
- Advanced audio features - 6 channels of quality 24 bits AES/EBU digital audio at 48kHz, perfect for surround sound editing. In addition cards have sample rate converters on all input channel pairs for non sync audio input (32kHz- 100kHz).
