Sorenson Video 3 is the professional's choice for delivering high-quality video compression for QuickTime media. It can be used with many popular editing tools including Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut Pro and iMovie, and Avid Xpress DV. Sorenson Video 3 interfaces with Sorenson Squeeze, Apple QuickTime Pro, or Discreet Cleaner compression applications.
Improved performance: With Sorenson Video 3, you can get better video quality than Sorenson Video 2 at less than half of the bit rate. Sorenson Video 3 delivers twice the compression speed as Sorenson Video 2 and three times the speed when using Variable Bit Rate (VBR) compression.
Support for alpha channel/chroma key: Sorenson Video supports chroma key effects, which allow you to remove a specified color from a video clip so that other video can be inserted in the deleted area.
Color watermarks: Watermarks, such as still images and logos, can be added to a video clip to show identity or to protect content. If a watermark created with Sorenson Video is removed from the compressed video, the video will not play.
Automatic keyframes through scene change detection: Automatic scene change detection enables the encoder to sense a scene change, produce a key frame, and allocate more resources (bits) to maximize video quality.
Bidirectional Prediction: The Sorenson Video compressor analyzes frames before and after the bi-directional frame and then creates and inserts a frame based on the average quality of both. This improves quality and coding efficiency.
Support for One-Pass and Two-Pass VBR compression: Two-Pass VBR compression produces much higher-quality video by distributing bits in an optimized method. The first pass analyzes the data; the second pass compresses the data for maximum performance based on the first-pass data profile.
Block refresh for packet loss correction: Block refresh minimizes and cleans up propagated video errors when lost network packets cause dropped video frames.
Media key support through secure encryption: Media key support through secure encryption provides very strong protection for your content.
Compression time packetization for error resiliency to packet loss: This feature minimizes quality degradation due to lost packets by inserting recognizable patterns into the bit stream. If a packet is lost, the decoder automatically picks up at another point. Thus, the decoder doesn't have to drop a frame.
